Let’s talk about Feb, baby.

So it was St. Patty’s day and I had a great time and met some new people. My cheekbones were hurting from the laughter. That’s prolly one of the best types of pain (if any) one can endure.

Anyway, I’m here to talk about February since I barely did last month. Not that you would care but it is the shortest month every year so I thought I’d give it some belated love. Maybe in list form. Who knows? Let’s see how it turns out…

  •
  • •   I played two separate vball tournaments… AT THE SAME TIME. Both of my teams won it all! In the finals on court 1, Andrew got injured so we had to play with only 3ppl yet we still won! It was such an amazing feeling to have the whole place cheering for us, point after point. What a day :)
  •
  • •   I was so tired one day that I dialed my credit card number instead of the phone number on the back…
  •
  • •   I finally started using the hot tub. It helped when I was sore after capoeira. Also when I work from home sometimes I use it during lunch break. Reminds me of Shizuoka :)
  •
  • •   On Valentine’s Day I came in 3rd out of 5ppl in a game of Monopoly even though I only owned one deed. Andy sucks at making deals.
  •
  • •   I went to an evening with Kevin Smith at Roy Thompson Hall. Talking about Avatar, Bruce Willis and Blair Witch was so hilarious.
  •
  • •   Conan had his last ep :(
  •
  • •   I got addicted for two weeks to that T.I. track, “Whatever You Like
  •
  • •   I started and beat Mass Effect 2. SO AWESOME! Seriously, this game is amazing.
  •
  • •   The Olypics happened. In Vancouver. We rocked. Our ceremonies did not.
  •
  • •   I got pulled over for speeding. Got two tickets for my licence being expired and having my old address on the expired licence :( Nice cop tho. Let me drive home because I was so polite :) Thank God he wasn’t a white cop!
  •
  • •   Learned that the Timmies at Lawrence and Don Mills is not good. Like… TERRIBLE. Do NOT go there.
  •
  • •   Got back into Westbam.
  •
  • •   Got into Tape Deck Bros. Funky-ass house! They are so awesome. Monday nights @ Andy Poolhall after capoeira are amazing! (Thanks Wyn!)
  •
  • •   My competitive vball team changed their name from Grapes to “I Wish I Had More Hands.” Before that we were Pancakes and before that, Blouses.
  •
  • •   I got down to 181lbs. I probably gained some back after I went dessert hopping with Steph and Cin. Yeah you heard me, dessert hopping.

Anyway, that was a breif summary of my February. See you next year, Feb.

Stacks of GAMES, and Coke on ICE,
We be Street Fightin’ all NIGHT
And maybe we can play whoever we like. We can play whoever we like;

Great white BEACH so warm and so BRIGHT,
String up the net for you so TIGHT
And baby we can bump however you like. We can bump however you like… Yeah!

Ain’t Done Nuffin’

So what have I been doing all this time, you may or most probably not have asked?

Monday I saw Wyn and Steph. Tuesday I saw EMEM, LisaGu, Seems and then Kristen and today I saw Sandra. I feel like Lou Bega! Actually, I hate that guy. Oh, I should also add Inga on Sunday ;)

I was invited to Marcus’s parent’s house on Sunday for tasty dinner and chat. It would make sense that an awesome person would have awesome parents. When I have a kid, I’m sending them to Inga’s and Armas’s care for the first 2 years so they can grow up as good as Marcus.

I’ve barely been at home this week so far (except that day I worked from home) as I’ve been spending my time hanging out with old friends. This explains why I still have more pictures from my Japan trip to upload to Facebook.

I also realized that FB resizes your pictures to a width of 604px. What the heck is that all about? Anyway, my batch of uploads will be sized to that width before I start the upload next time. Let’s see how the quality changes then!

What have I done from the list in my last post? Nothing. I haven’t played any games, cleaned, barely drank water (I should get some now…), sleeping at normal times, watching shows, reading comics… I don’t know what’s up. What I did do was go to my first capoeira lesson after five or six years last Saturday. I think I might do Monday’s too with Wynnie.

Fit Farhan: coming soon.

Things I Am Doing

Hello!
I’m back from Japan and sad. It is cold, there is snow on the ground, I am jet lagged… not fun.

Speaking of fun, I just wanted to make a list of things that I am doing. I need to figure out which of these things I should focus on at the moment. So here goes:

  • • Playing Doom. Yes, the first one. I’m using this for mouse/kb
  • • Playing Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest in Japan). Yes, the first one! I’m being bad and using a NES emulator on my PSP. I just want to see where all the hype stems from.
  • • Cleaning up. It is very messy after packing/unpacking.
  • • Drinking water. Well I can multi-task this one…
  • • Trying to stay awake. I failed yesterday and slept from 3:45pm to 10pm
  • &bull Watching Japanese TV via KeyHoleTV 3.14
  • • Watching Dollhouse on NinjaVideo.net
  • • Reading Blackest Night. It is pretty badass. Read the lead up to it first if you don’t know much about Green Lantern.
  • • Getting pictures of my trip ready for the site and Facebook.
  • • Scanning those writey-drawey pages from when Zoo & Vix were here. Sorry for taking so long :(
  • • Organizing “Pick-up Thread” pics for NeoGAF
  • • Checkin’ Facebook. I started logging into FB again after a 55 month hiatus. I guess I should install that FB app on my Android phone.
  • • Groceries. There is nothing to eat in this house.
  • • Making MP3 CDs for my car. I’ve had the same CDs for years. 2010 it is time for some new (meaning: older) shit.
  • • Filling out my GST forms. I hate form filling.
  • • Payin’ bills that piled up during the trip.
  • • Did I mention cleaning up? This place is a nasty mess…

Am I forgetting anything?

Age Ain’t Nothin’ But a Number

Thank you for all the bday wishes via email and Facebook. I’m older but I feel younger.

To commemorate living passed 30 years, I bought myself a nice watch. And since I am in Japan it is a Japanese watch: Seiko. It is one of only 300 ever made and I think it looks cool! I’ll post a pic later.

Today is my last day in the land of the rising fun. I’m going to head out to Akihabara for the last time, possibly ever, and grab a few last minute things and gifts. Then after dinner tonight I will pack for the long flight home. I hear there is enhanced security because of some bomb scare? What the hell is that all about?

Anyway, hopefully my next post will be from home and not from a random airport between here and there. *crosses fingers*

Hello from Japan!

Yeah, so I landed in Tokyo on the 19th. My luggage, however, landed on the 21st. Since Japan Air Lines doesn’t go direct to Toronto, I had to take Air Canada to Vancouver first. AC screwed something up with my bags and JAL got to the bottom of it for me.

Speaking of bottoms… when I checked my luggage, I found my stuff was tossed around on the inside. The expensive stuff was all there but one of my boxers was missing… I’m in Japan!

Anyway, the five hour Air Canada flight was the most boring flight ever. I didn’t sleep at all the night before so I had already been awake for 24hours when I boarded the flight. I thought I would get some sleep on the plane but it was so uncomfy with no room to move. I tried getting out my laptop to watch a show I pre-downloaded for the flights but it was too big for the room I had!

What made it worse was that I was in the middle seat with two very un-fun women on either side of me. I was so tired that I didn’t even want to play my PSP or do some sudoku puzzles or anything! All I could do was eat my Twizzlers.

As soon as I landed in Vancouver, I felt better and relaxed. I couldn’t connect my laptop to the network but my 3G Android phone worked fine. The flight was delayed but I took that time to stretch and enjoy the space. When I got on the plane, I got an isle seat with nobody in the middle and some Japanese school girl at the window. I had room to stretch so I was happy… until I realized that there were no plugs for my laptop :(

So I was eating my Twizzlers on this nine hour flight and I still couldn’t sleep. I did some sudoku, ate some great food that they gave us, played some of their in-flight entertainment… and ate Twizzlers.

I think by the time I landed in Tokyo, I gained the 15lbs that I lost before the flight :(

Anyways, I don’t care! I’m in Japan, with our without my luggage but with my brother, Marcus, and new sister-in-law, Tomoko! And I’m freezing my butt off! Whatever, it is worth it! The weather is actually pretty nice out side when the sun is out. And the fact that it isn’t too windy is pretty great.

I have this Japanese-style room in M&T’s house which is pretty sweet. All that is missing is one of those table things with the blankets built in hehe. I don’t know what those are called…

Anyway, I’ll write more later!

Gonna get my Nihon…

So it is 3am and my flight is in about 7hrs. I still have some packing to do. I was supposed to finish it all before my vball games but I had too much stuff to do for work.

As for the vball games, both of my teams were 3 for 3 and I am tired as hell. Before the games I went to the clinic and we did one on one quarter court drills… I was tired in less than 2 mins. So awesome. The vball feels so good. Like, SO good. All they need at North Beach is some good music. Not that vocoderiffic crap that passes for hip hop nowadays…

I weighed myself again the other day at my mom’s place and I am… dun dun duuuuuuun… 185lbs! I’ve lost about 15lbs in the last while. Yeah, can you believe I was around the 200 range? If you knew me in high school I’m sure you’re surprised.

D-Train showed up to my last match so he and the team went to JA’s and ate and drank. I had a cookie cup! So good, man. I drank three Gatorades and two waters and I’m still thirsty.

Anyway, I should get back to packing so I can nap a bit. If you want to contact me you can either post comments or use the contact page. I’ll try to update the blog, twitter and MAYBE facebook depending on how late I stay up the first few nights.

If I don’t update, then happy holidays and happy new year, fuckers!
