Aww…

Sorry for neglecting you, bloggy.

I’ve been SO busy that I haven’t even been playing my Xbox! Actually today was the first day in 10 weeks!
I’ll tell you about it sometime :)

Maybe.

Let’s talk about Feb, baby.

So it was St. Patty’s day and I had a great time and met some new people. My cheekbones were hurting from the laughter. That’s prolly one of the best types of pain (if any) one can endure.

Anyway, I’m here to talk about February since I barely did last month. Not that you would care but it is the shortest month every year so I thought I’d give it some belated love. Maybe in list form. Who knows? Let’s see how it turns out…

  •
  • •   I played two separate vball tournaments… AT THE SAME TIME. Both of my teams won it all! In the finals on court 1, Andrew got injured so we had to play with only 3ppl yet we still won! It was such an amazing feeling to have the whole place cheering for us, point after point. What a day :)
  •
  • •   I was so tired one day that I dialed my credit card number instead of the phone number on the back…
  •
  • •   I finally started using the hot tub. It helped when I was sore after capoeira. Also when I work from home sometimes I use it during lunch break. Reminds me of Shizuoka :)
  •
  • •   On Valentine’s Day I came in 3rd out of 5ppl in a game of Monopoly even though I only owned one deed. Andy sucks at making deals.
  •
  • •   I went to an evening with Kevin Smith at Roy Thompson Hall. Talking about Avatar, Bruce Willis and Blair Witch was so hilarious.
  •
  • •   Conan had his last ep :(
  •
  • •   I got addicted for two weeks to that T.I. track, “Whatever You Like
  •
  • •   I started and beat Mass Effect 2. SO AWESOME! Seriously, this game is amazing.
  •
  • •   The Olypics happened. In Vancouver. We rocked. Our ceremonies did not.
  •
  • •   I got pulled over for speeding. Got two tickets for my licence being expired and having my old address on the expired licence :( Nice cop tho. Let me drive home because I was so polite :) Thank God he wasn’t a white cop!
  •
  • •   Learned that the Timmies at Lawrence and Don Mills is not good. Like… TERRIBLE. Do NOT go there.
  •
  • •   Got back into Westbam.
  •
  • •   Got into Tape Deck Bros. Funky-ass house! They are so awesome. Monday nights @ Andy Poolhall after capoeira are amazing! (Thanks Wyn!)
  •
  • •   My competitive vball team changed their name from Grapes to “I Wish I Had More Hands.” Before that we were Pancakes and before that, Blouses.
  •
  • •   I got down to 181lbs. I probably gained some back after I went dessert hopping with Steph and Cin. Yeah you heard me, dessert hopping.

Anyway, that was a breif summary of my February. See you next year, Feb.

Stacks of GAMES, and Coke on ICE,
We be Street Fightin’ all NIGHT
And maybe we can play whoever we like. We can play whoever we like;

Great white BEACH so warm and so BRIGHT,
String up the net for you so TIGHT
And baby we can bump however you like. We can bump however you like… Yeah!

Things I Am Doing

Hello!
I’m back from Japan and sad. It is cold, there is snow on the ground, I am jet lagged… not fun.

Speaking of fun, I just wanted to make a list of things that I am doing. I need to figure out which of these things I should focus on at the moment. So here goes:

  • • Playing Doom. Yes, the first one. I’m using this for mouse/kb
  • • Playing Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest in Japan). Yes, the first one! I’m being bad and using a NES emulator on my PSP. I just want to see where all the hype stems from.
  • • Cleaning up. It is very messy after packing/unpacking.
  • • Drinking water. Well I can multi-task this one…
  • • Trying to stay awake. I failed yesterday and slept from 3:45pm to 10pm
  • &bull Watching Japanese TV via KeyHoleTV 3.14
  • • Watching Dollhouse on NinjaVideo.net
  • • Reading Blackest Night. It is pretty badass. Read the lead up to it first if you don’t know much about Green Lantern.
  • • Getting pictures of my trip ready for the site and Facebook.
  • • Scanning those writey-drawey pages from when Zoo & Vix were here. Sorry for taking so long :(
  • • Organizing “Pick-up Thread” pics for NeoGAF
  • • Checkin’ Facebook. I started logging into FB again after a 55 month hiatus. I guess I should install that FB app on my Android phone.
  • • Groceries. There is nothing to eat in this house.
  • • Making MP3 CDs for my car. I’ve had the same CDs for years. 2010 it is time for some new (meaning: older) shit.
  • • Filling out my GST forms. I hate form filling.
  • • Payin’ bills that piled up during the trip.
  • • Did I mention cleaning up? This place is a nasty mess…

Am I forgetting anything?

The Fight is All.

I think at my wedding, after kissing the bride and we walk back down the isle, I want Ryu’s SF2 ending music to play… And then I’ll beat the shit out of the next waterfall I come across.

Rundown: Week 46, 2009

Derrick and Vicky are gone :(
But that’s ok, I had lots of fun during the last three weeks. I hope they did too. And I hope they come visit me and Tomocus (Tomoko and Marcus?) in The Land of the Rising Fun.

Here’s a quick run down of what I did during the last week:

  • • Bought Assassin’s Creed 2 ($20 off!), all three Overlord games ($9 total!), both Crysis games ($15 each!)
  • • Got early access to the Bayonetta demo on XBL
  • • Got my 2 week JR/Shinkansen pass for my Japan trip
  • • Watched Derrick and Andy play Borderlands for many hours
  • • Practiced Street Fighter IV with Sagat (and destroyed Derrick’s Ryu, heh)
  • • Andrew and Wendy’s wedding (last one of the year!)
  • • Planted seeds for Andy and Ben getting snowmobiles for X-Mas (lol)
  • • Watched Pandorum and 2012
  • • Dim Sum with the office crew and D+V, Ana, Carmen
  • • All star wings with D+V, Andy and Karmun
  • • Applied for my passport renewal
  • • Volleyball tournament
  • • P90X Core Synergetics
  • • Died after P90X Core Synergetics

I can’t remember much more since I’m dead. I also procrastinated updating this site to make it live. All I need to do is tweak it so Internet Explorer doesn’t just do whatever it wants with the CSS. Then one day you can actually read this!

Japan is Official!

I’ll be going to Japan for the 2nd time this year, 3rd time total. I’m so excited and it is taking a lot of effort not to end every sentence with an exclamation mark..!

I will be leaving the morning of December 18th and coming back on Japan Air Lines January 8th, TWO THOUSAND AND TEN. So I’ll be spending Christmas, New Years and my birthday all in a totally different T[dot].

I’m so happy! I get to see Marcus and my new sister-in-law, Tomoko, for third time in the same year. On top of that, there’s a chance that a bunch of my friends (including Derrick!) will be there too.

Anyway, speaking of awesome things, Vicky arrived today. That’s not the awesome part yet. Derrick showed her the Batman: Arkham Asylum game for like 2 minutes. After that she was beating the crap out of all of The Joker’s henchmen and asking for more people to destroy. She went from already cool to super-cool!

I remember when I was about seven years old, my dad rented a vampire movie by the name of Fright Night. Some of the scenes in the movie stuck with my for years and I remember being quite scared.

This weekend, due to Halloween, I watched Fright Night and Fright Night Part 2. All I have to say is, wow. The 80s movie electric guitar score was in full effect. Also when watching the first one, I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be a horror-comedy or just a comedy. It wasn’t scary at all and felt really goofy! Things must have been extremely different back then. It won three Saturn awards and one of them was for Best Horror Film while another was for Best Writing!

Chun Li & Jojo

So I had to “rearrange” Jojo’s MySpace page today. It looked as if she did the page herself. When I looked at the code it just seemed to me that they hired the first guy that applied for the job.

I didn’t fix anything that was broken. I just made it NOT look like a mess.

Apparently she is trying to sign a new contract with the record label and once she does she’ll have a bag of money for a complete re-design of her MySpace. Hopefully, I’ll get the slice/dice job for that too.

While I was trying to work on it, I was trying to install some necessary apps on my new laptop. At the same time, my router decided to give me a headache. And it worked. My head was paining and my left eye felt like it wanted to pop out of the socket. After I finished working on Jojo’s page I decided to join Andy (who was over, hangin’ with Derrick) in a game of Street Fighter.

Almost instantly, my headache went away and very soon after, my eyeball was like “I think I’ll stay and watch the game.”

Derrick gave me an idea today about getting things that usually get pushed back actually done. He said to try to have a schedule where one hour a day, you do ________. Whatever it is you want to do. In my case, it would be learn ActionScript or work on that XNA game that Ken, Ross and I want to do.

Even if you end up only doing half an hour of work, as long as you touch it everyday it will be come habit. I heard from an old manager of mine that once you do something at least 21 times in a row, it becomes a habit (I think). I should look that up.

I have so many things I want to do everyday:

  • • Work out
  • • Learn ActionScript
  • • Work on this site and my portfolio
  • • Program a game
  • • Organize my room
  • • Make some progress in a game

Let’s see how this goes.

Return of the Zoo

My brother, Derrick is home! Ben was almost unstoppable with his ZanGRIEF tactics. Almost :)

I’m posting this entry from my brand new laptop!
